The sample recordings appearing on this website were recorded during two sessions in the summer of 2007...one on July 12 and a second one on September 4. 

On September 4, after the goals for the evening had been accomplished, Kendall and I had a cigar, a cocktail(s), and a swim.  We came in afterward and I thought the evening was pretty much over.  However, Kendall, fresh from the break and relieved to be done with the heavy lifting, sat down and picked up his guitar.    I, as a good producer should, turned on the "tape recorder", shut up and listened as he played virtually uninterrupted for another two hours.

Most of the time he was simply improvising, but a few songs from "the list" popped in occasionally.  I have played guitar with Kendall many times at Michelle Teeple's birthday parties, but I had never had the opportunity to just sit back and listen to him go, and I enjoyed it a lot.   

The five selections plucked from that two hour period are for those of you who just want to hear Kendall play, relaxed, warmed up, in great form.  I know the recordings can't completely capture joy of sitting in the same room with this great musician and hearing him work, but hopefully it will whet your appetite to show up at a live appearance and experience it yourself.
